7 MOST IMPORTANT TIPS FOR CONTACT LENS WEARERS RECOMMENDED AT DR RAUT’S EYE CARE CLINIC ARE LISTED BELOW: Hand Hygiene is of Utmost Importance before handling Contact Lens. After washing hands with soap and water, dry them with lint-free cloth or paper towel, as Bad Hygiene practices are linked to higher risk of contamination for contact lens wearers. Do Not Interchange the Right Eye Contact Lens with the Left Eye Contact Lens as the lens may have different power. Before placing the contact lens in your eye, make sure its shape looks like Half a Ball and not a Soup Bowl with a Rim. Never use Tap Water or Saliva to clean the contact lens. Always rinse them with Lens Solution which has been recommended by your Eye Specialist. Keep your Contact Lens always Moist or Hydrated. Avoid adding New Solution to the Old Solution which is already in the case, as it may lead to an Eye Infection. Do Not apply Make-up closer to the eyes, as this may lead to eye irritation. If the eye appears red, watery, vision is blurry or you find sticky discharge in the eye, consult your Eye Specialist. Do Not Wear Contact Lens for Long Hours at a Stretch and Neither Sleep with them. It is advisable to Avoid wearing contact lens whilst taking a Shower or Swimming. It is better to carry a Back-up Pair of Glasses. The Plus Point of wearing your glasses for few hours daily helps the Cornea to Breathe Oxygen and Stay Healthy. Whether your contact lenses are Cosmetic or to Correct Vision, do not share your lenses with anyone including family members—it should not touch anyone else’s eyeball as there may be a risk of contracting HIV. For maintaining Good Eye Sight, one should not skip Annual Eye Check up with your Eye Specialist.
Absolutely love how understanding Dr. Kumud Raut is. The only place where I have not been told about only the process of getting a surgery, but rather they insist on educating about how the eye functions and the importance of having a healthy eye before any surgery.
